Prospects for the tourism industry of the Astrakhan region are in the spotlight
Directions of tourism development in the Astrakhan region were discussed on March 23 in the Grand Hotel Astrakhan at Meeting of the Tourism Council under the Astrakhan Region Governor Alexander Zhilkin, where participated Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Culture and Tourism Galina Zoteeva.
Main topics of the meeting were results of the tourism cluster formation and its work plan for the future, as well as the concept of regional tourist products promotion, the system of region ??promotion at the federal level, attraction of tourists and prospects of air traffic development in the Astrakhan region.
As the head of the region noted, today it is necessary to form a brand new tourist offers, which will reveal potential of the region, not only as a place for hunting and fishing.
Alexey Musakin, Member of the Regional Council of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, Board Member of Russian Hotel Association, Cronwell Hotels & Resorts CEO, spoke about promotion of the Astrakhan region at the federal level. In his opinion, the key mechanism for development should become a dialogue with professional tourism associations at the federal level, which in turn will ensure mutually beneficial cooperation in the region to attract Russian and foreign tourists.
Hotel Chain Cronwell Hotels & Resorts initiated organization of the conference, during which main directions of the promotion of the Astrakhan region tourism potential will be determined. The event will be held on April 9 and 10, 2015, tour operators of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Perm, Kazan, Rostov-na-Donu and other Russian cities will attend it. The most important point of this meeting will be signing of contracts between the governor of Astrakhan region and two of the most active organizations of the tourism industry: Russian Travel Industry Council and the Russian Hotel Association. Partnership in the active development of the Astrakhan region tourism cluster primarily focuses on promotion of the project "Weekend tours", aimed at residents of the nearby and capital regions, as well as programs of cultural, business and health tourism.
